Commodes

These commodes were imported from France in all their rawness. They are examples of painted furniture with a little extra.

The process on these 3 pieces was quite simple. Layers of paint were applied, then sanded down to a smooth finish and decorated with stenciling, using gold and silver leaf. Finally, vigorous polishing added the soft shine.

These pieces are not available, as they live at The Grand, Plettenberg Bay. Similar work can be done with a piece of furniture and design elements of your choice.
